Source Code

The source code for the Console for Windows is freely available. You can do what you wish with the code -- except change all instances of a name to your name, recompile and then redistribute. You have to pay FreeFoote to do that ... ;-)

The code is made available for you to do whatever you want with it. It is available as one big archive (382k).

This code has been written in a language called RapidQ, which is a Visual Basic -style language, without the "Visual" part. But, it adds in heaps of cooler things. Unfortunately, it's now an unsupported project, but you should still be able to download RapidQ from http://www.basicguru.com/abc/rapidq/.

If you'd like, you can view the files as colour-coded HTML files now:

  • CONSOLE2.BAS - the main source file
  • DECLARES.BAS - the function declarations
  • VARIABLES.BAS - the variable declarations
  • FORMS.BAS - the code that creates the forms and associated controls
  • GENSUBS.BAS - general subroutines that are relevant to the whole program
  • DATABASE.BAS - the code that does all the databasing stuff behind the bindings
  • OTHERS.BAS - other subroutines that are required

And for the programs which work alongside the CFW2:

  • MULTI.BAS - the Multiuser front end source
  • CONVERT.BAS - the CFW1 convertor source code

Enjoy! If nothing else, you may be able to learn something from the code, even though it's not the best code ever written ....
